COMMERICAL GRADE COMPUTERS VS. HOME OR 'HOME-OFFICE' GRADE COMPUTERS

 WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

Home and Home Office Grade computer equipment is certainly priced-right and offers the purchaser many seemingly wonderful extra hardware and software. Bells and whistles and great color and sound are packed into the Home and Home Office System.

The Commercial Grade equipment continues to appear to offer less and cost more.

WHY IS THAT? AREN'T ALL COMPUTERS THE SAME?

No, they're not the same. Here's why:

·          Home and Home Office Equipment offers a very limited short-term manufacturer's warranty. This warranty normally requires the end-user to perform their own trouble-shooting with the assistance of a telephone technician who keeps the end-user on the phone for hours upon hours and may even require the end-user to take delivery of parts and install those parts themselves. And to add insult to injury the manufacturer may require the end-user to pack and ship the defective part back. This may not be so bad if you've nothing else to do, but even a great employer is not going to sit idly by watching his investment in salaries and fringe benefits go down the drain.

·          Connect that new Home or Home Office computer to the average Local Area Network and watch that warranty disappear completely on some equipment. Read your warranty carefully.

·          The price is lower because the value is lower…..

COMMERCIAL GRADE EQUIPMENT OFFERS A MUCH ENHANCED, USUALLY LONGER MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY.

·          Home and Home Office computers come with a wide array of software and appear to be basically free. But, look closer. Is the software a stripped-down version of the real thing? Does the software come with documentation? Does it come with diskettes or CDs from which to re-load the software? Who is responsible for Support? What happens if the hard drive crashes?

·          MANY HOME AND HOME OFFICE COMPUTERS ARE MANUFACTURED WITH A FOUR STAGE PROCESS  - (compared to a six stage process, like hyde.com's exclusive line of strictly for business systems, ProZyne™, or Compaq's Deskpro Series of Business Computers).

BETTER HARDWARE, BETTER WARRANTY, BETTER SUPPORT; ALL MEANS A LOT IF YOU MEAN BUSINESS!!!
