more about Bob Hyde

Bob first became interested in the computer field when he was the Residential Sales Manager, managing seventy-two Sales Associates, at Aronov Realty Company in 1985. Bob saw a real need for a Residential Sales Commission Tracking System. Because there was not a software program to meet what he saw as a real need, he began to educating himself about the ins-and-outs of computer logic and programming to find his own solution. He wrote a tracking program that has been used by Aronov since 1985. The program was so successful that it is still in use today. Bob found computers fascinating and resigned his position with Aronov in 1986 to pursue a career in the computer technology industry.

His company, hyde.com, is centered on vertical market support and information technologies. He now recommends solutions, configures, installs and supports numerous networks in and around Montgomery, with at least half of these networks being law firms. The law firms range in size from the single practitioner to firms as large as thirty-four attorneys. Due to the nature of LANs, a great deal of work has to be done after normal business hours. As a result, Bob has access and security clearance to the systems and these firm’s buildings on a twenty-four hour basis. Several systems are connected to him by modem. He is cognizant of the fact that information contained in a client’s files is considered privileged, and the information contained in any document is respected.

Bob has installed 100+ networks during his career. He is very proud of the fact that one of his largest law firm installations has had only four hours of server downtime in the past five years.

Bob designed a case management system for one law firm that incorporated a company wide telephone directory that was used as the basis for creating and tracking matters. The case management system was used for tracking a single client with up to three attorneys, two paralegals per client, investigators, adversaries and their attorneys, witnesses and referrals. This system was implemented by a large firm that specializes in personal injury, class action and multi-plaintiff suits. This firm’s weekly Conflicts Check sometimes listed as many as 6,000 active cases. The system was used by the firm for the period 1990 through 1995, and was rewritten in 1995 to run in a Microsoft Windows™ environment. He was told that this program saved the firm thousands upon thousands of dollars in malpractice insurance premiums.

In the commercial area, in 1985 when Bob was the Chairman of the Multiple-Listing Service of the Board of Realtors in Montgomery, he spearheaded the implementation of a new state-of-the-arts multiple-listing computer system that produced weekly multiple-list books for over 1,000 Real Estate Agents in Montgomery. This system remained in use until 1995.

Bob’s professional credentials include various technical courses, including AutoDesk, IBM OS/2 Training, IBM LAN Manager Training, IBM PS/2 Certification, Compaq Computer Training, and a Dale Carnegie Sales Course. He attended a Vendor Education Exhibition presented by MicroAge, Inc.™. in Tempe, Arizona, in February 1996. And, more recently he attended VentureTech Network vendor continuing education workshops in Las Vegas in 1999 and Orlando in 2000.  Bob has a thorough knowledge of Tier One, State-of-the-Arts products available in today’s market place for problem solutions and has the technical expertise to configure, install, upgrade and support the information systems of his clients. Bob bases his success on his belief that forming a strong partnering relationship with those professionals who use his services develops an impregnable alliance.

Bob attended Troy State University at Montgomery, majoring in Business Administration, with emphasis in Economics and has taken continuing education courses at Faulkner University.
